The Goal
Partner globally recognized Nine West brand, with a major Indian footwear powerhouse enabling Nine West to expand into India.
For Bata, an established, and the largest footwear company in India, rather than launching a new brand themselves, the objective was to establish a licensing/manufacturing agreement with Authentic Brands Group to leverage Nine West’s brand equity, design heritage, and international reputation.
The Results
After strategic brand evaluation, negotiations, and execution, we secured a deal between Bata India and Authentic Brands Group for the Nine West brand. Under this agreement:
Bata India will manufacture, market, and distribute Nine West-branded footwear and accessories throughout India. 
The partnership is part of Bata’s premiumisation strategy, aimed at enhancing its fashion portfolio and meeting rising consumer demand for branded lifestyle products. 
Nine West, founded in New York and now owned by Authentic Brands, has a presence in over 40 countries globally. 
By aligning with Nine West’s fashion credibility and Bata’s deep retail & manufacturing infrastructure, the partnership positions Bata to capture the premium women’s footwear & accessories market in India more rapidly and with lower brand‐building risk.
